- Head of the Lakes Invitational Tournament, June 8 - 10, 2007 –every family is expected to provide volunteer hours that weekend.
- Team manager (or co-manager)

- Equipment/Fields (including attending Fields of Duluth meetings)

All boys and girls soccer teams in Minnesota have a classification, and they play other teams with the same classification - this ensures that the games are more competitive. The classification of teams from the least to the most competitive are:
- Recreational (Rec.) soccer (AYSA) (least competitive)
- Rec Plus (tournament teams, GGSC)
- Classic 3 (C3)
- Classic 2 (C2)
- Classic 1 (C1)
- Premier (most competitive)

Each team has a manager who is a parent that assists the coach with the logistics of the team but not the coaching. Duties include:
- Organize team meetings
- Answer questions and communicate information to parents
- Assist Treasurer with the collection of player fees
- Help with tournament selections
- Secure hotel room blocks for tournaments
- Act as a liaison between the coach and families
- Distribute practice schedules, tournament schedules, and any changes after distribution
- Distribute maps and/or directions to fields and hotels
- Collect additional funds for extra team expenses (i.e. buses, extra tournaments, indoor practice fees, etc.)
- Organize tournament volunteers for the GGSC tournament
- Maintain team handbook with medical release forms, passes, and team rosters
- Work with coach to organized year-end party

Estimated Financial Commitments
Player Fees [can range from $325 (tournament teams) to $425 (league teams)]
Uniform (new players) ($80)
Team warm-up suit ($60 - $100) (may be a mandatory purchase for your team)
Bus to away games ($40 to $55/game, up to 7 times) (may be a mandatory purchase for your team)
Field costs for indoor practice time (may be mandatory for your team)
Hotel and travel costs for out-of-town tournament games
Estimated Time Commitments
Practices, beginning anywhere from February to April, 1 – 3 times/week
2 – 4 weekend tournaments, scheduled for weekends in May, June and July
Games – season begins the second week of May with 10 – 14 games. Season ends with the State Tournament, which could be as late as the first weekend of August
Player Fees: Player fees cover the coaches’ stipend, MYSA registration and insurance, referee fees, outdoor field use, team equipment, and contracted staff salaries. A detailed summary will be given to each player with their fee statement. All players’ fees must be paid in full before the player is allowed to play in games ($200 to hold a player’s place on the roster, due January 5, 2007; balance due April 1, 2007).
